Speakers' Profile:

Noah Falstein, Owner, The Inspiracy
Noah Falstein has been a professional game developer since 1980 with many hit title credits and was an early hire at LucasArts, 3DO, and Dreamworks Interactive. Most recently he was Google's Chief Game Designer. His freelance design business, The Inspiracy is focused on games for health, specifically neurogaming.

Topic: Games, Medicine, and XR
A brief overview of this exploding new field, games are on the verge of being cleared by the FDA in the US on the same level as pharmaceuticals (over half a trillion dollar market worldwide!) and are already being used to treat stroke recovery, phobias, and to train doctors. Some use VR/AR, some don't. Asian markets have some unique potential because of the scalability of digital treatment and training to reach large, underserved populations, and the new growth in this area makes it easier to break into than well-explored game genres.

Martin Sawtell & Corey Manders, Co-founders, BetaSight

BetaSight is building the next generation of eye tests to detect the most common causes of blindness. By using off the shelf VR devices with eye-tracking capabilities, we have built a new kind of Visual Field Test for Glaucoma and are developing a new way of testing for AMD. We also log all eye movements, allowing us to apply machine learning best practices to discover unique insights about not just the eye, but higher order cognitive function. The way people move their eyes provides rich insights that BetaSight aims to uncover.
