Chik Liang Tan, Product Line, Innovation and Marketing Director, Texturisers and Specialties APAC, Cargill

Chik Liang is the Product Line, Innovation and Marketing Director for Cargill’s Starches, Sweeteners and Texturisers business in Asia. In this role, Chik Liang is based in Singapore and leads the product line, marketing and pricing teams to drive product development and innovation as well as to deliver the top and bottom-line growth for the texturisers and specialities business in APAC.

Prior to this role, Chik Liang spent 3 years in Indonesia, as leading business development for the sweetness business in South East Asia. And before that, he worked in Cargill Singapore as a Corporate Strategy Manager for 4 years in where he developed business unit strategies and led mergers and acquisitions transactions. 

Chik Liang is Singaporean. He graduated from the National University of Singapore with an Electrical and Computer Engineering Degree. He also holds a Masters of Business Administration from INSEAD, graduating with distinction in 2011. 

Marieke Otten, Head, Consumer Sensory Insights, Asia Pacific, Givaudan

Marieke Otten is passionate about consumer-centric innovation and the increasing role of digital in transforming the way we develop products.

She has a deep B2B knowledge in both fragrance & beauty and taste & wellbeing and has lived and worked in Asia, Europe and Latin America.

She is passionate about discovering how people around the world eat, drink & bring out the beauty in themselves and why they're making the choices that they make. 

Marieke holds a Master of Science Degree from Delft University of Technology where she specialized in Strategic Marketing and Product Innovation Management. 

Maria Galindo, Associate Principal Scientist - Consumer Science, Mondelez International

Maria has over 15 years of experience leading the product innovation process for multimillion-dollar brands in the FMCG Industry, she is passionate about deeply understanding consumers their values, aspirations and needs and translating this into successful product propositions.

She leads the Mondelez Digital community of practice and is responsible to drive the adoption of new AI technologies across the CS team as a way to reach consumers more efficiently. 
She has a broad understanding of consumers and markets across different regions, over the years she has worked in Latin  America, the USA, Singapore, Japan and Australia. Maria has BSc majoring in Chemical Engineering and an MBA.


Daniel Hitz, Vice President, Business Development, Olam OFI

Daniel Hitz Vice President – Business Development, OFI at Olam. In this role, Daniel is responsible for conceptualising and implementing business plans for OFI business in new and existing markets.
 
Daniel brings over 30 years of strategic and operational business experience across the Asia Pacific, Australia-New Zealand and Europe regions in a diverse range of customer, commercial, business development and technical roles.
 
Daniel was last associated with Kerry Ingredients over 16 years and was instrumental in developing businesses across Food Services and Quick Service Restaurants. As a member of Kerry’s Executive Management team, he led the development of new/adjacent business growth platforms with cross-functional leadership experience in securing IP and developing new business models. Earlier, Daniel started as an entrepreneur, he established Tensa Food Pte limited from initial concept through to international success; before it was acquired by Kerry Ingredients.
 
Daniel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science specialised in Food Technology from the University of Sydney, Australia.
