Overview

Join us for an evening on 12 June with Prof. Jan W. Thomsen, who will give a presentation on the Danish quantum ecosystem and the Danish strategies for developing quantum science scientifically and commercially. Followed by a panel debate with:

-          Prof. Jan W. Thomsen, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Programme

-          Prof. José Ignacio Latorre, Director of Centre for Quantum Technologies

In 1922, Danish Niels Bohr was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for his ground breaking work on atomic structure and quantum theory. This marked a pivotal moment in the history of physics and the natural sciences. While the world has evolved significantly since then, Bohr's legacy continues to resonate.

Across the globe, countries are heavily investing in quantum technology, as we begin to realise the extensive scientific and commercial potential that the technology has. The quantum field is developing rapidly and will become a foundational technology for the next century.

How do small open economies like Singapore and Denmark that both rely on knowledge and innovation as key economic drives, successfully support and built an ecosystem for the quantum technologies? That is the main question our speakers will be discussing along with these topics:

-          Differences and possibilities in the Danish and Singaporean quantum ecosystems

-          Obstacles and strategies for spin offs and how Governments best support spin offs

-          Talent development and exchange of talent

-          Scientific focus areas in Singapore and Denmark, and where can we learn from each other.
