SGInnovate’s ecosystem domain maps give a bird’s eye view and visual guide that highlights strategic players and contributors in emerging tech domains. With this map, players will be able to identify where partnerships need to be fostered to help accelerate innovations to market.
Singapore’s power sector accounts for close to 40% of the country’s primary emissions, second only to industry. To support its commitments to net-zero emissions by 2050 and strengthen energy security, Singapore announced a national hydrogen strategy in 2022, highlighting low-carbon hydrogen as a key potential decarbonisation pathway.
Research and development work is already underway to advance technologies in this domain. S$43 million was earmarked for the Directed Hydrogen Programme under Phase 2 of the Low-Carbon Energy Research programme, aimed at accelerating technical viability and commercial scalability of hydrogen-related technologies. The Energy Market Authority has also called for a study to develop a framework of laws and policies for the low-carbon hydrogen economy, laying the groundwork to accelerate adoption once commercial viability is achieved.
Wider utilisation of hydrogen as a low-carbon fuel is expected to create opportunities along a newly created supply chain, consisting of various functions from financing and certifying, to transport, storage and deployment. Correspondingly, this gives rise to a new ecosystem of players supporting each stage of the chain, including investors, corporates, startups and research institutions.
As Deep Tech talent and community connectors, SGInnovate has created the Singapore Hydrogen Ecosystem Map, which highlights major players across different parts of the hydrogen supply chain, to facilitate engagement and collaboration in the ecosystem.

The map will be updated periodically.
