Providing a platform for research and exploration, space is critical for the advancement of humankind where space technology is a key driver for innovation. Over the years space tech has provided spin-off technologies which find application in everyday life and thus impact the common livelihood of mankind. Furthermore, the space industry is a catalyst for the development of communities, creating thousands of jobs and attracting talent, boosting local economies. It is also a symbol of what is possible, inspiring an innovative and independent high-tech knowledge society.
Hack Space for the Planet is an innovation competition where multinational and multidisciplinary teams explore and come up with new ideas how satellite and open data and space technology can be used to find solutions to challenges on Earth, focusing on the 17 UN SDGs.
The final pitch by participating teams will take place in Singapore on 11 November 2019. Space tech stakeholders and potential partners who are interested to collaborate with the teams to bring their ideas to the next stage are invited to join us!
