Mr. Jeffrey Chi, Ph.D

Dr. Jeffrey Chi is a veteran in the venture capital industry and a strong advocate for the promotion of socially responsible investing & entrepreneurship. He is Founder & CEO of VantageX, a firm dedicated to helping high impact companies grow and succeed. Dr. Chi has expertise in life sciences, medical devices, healthcare, financial services (including fintech) and energy transition sectors. Previously, Dr. Chi co-founded Vickers Venture Partners where he served as its Vice Chairman for Asia. While he has stepped down from his executive postion, he remains a shareholder and a member of its investment committee. Dr Chi also contributes his expertise through various board and advisory roles. He currently serves of the board of Aardvark Therapeutics (NASDAQ: AARD), Jing Jin Electric (SH:688280, Electric Vehicle Drivetrains), Vivance (renal care company), Matchmove Pay (Fintech), QYH (Carbon credit development company) and others.

Prof. Andrea B. Maier

Andrea B. Maier (1978), a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), graduated in Medicine (MD) 2003 from the University of Lübeck (Germany), was registered 2009 in The Netherlands as Specialist in Internal Medicine-Geriatrics and was appointed Full Professor of Gerontology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (The Netherlands) in 2013. She was the head of Geriatrics at the Vrije Universiteit Medical Center from 2012 to 2016. From 2016 to early 2021 Professor Maier served as Divisional Director of Medicine and Community Care at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia, and as Professor of Medicine and Aged Care at the University of Melbourne, Australia. She continued her career at the National University of Singapore as Director of the Centre for Healthy Longevity. Professor Maier’s research focuses on unraveling the mechanisms of ageing and age-related diseases to bring diagnostics and interventions to optimize health into clinical practice.

Dr. Philip Wong, Founder & CMO - WEB Biotechnology (Spyder ECG), Senior Consultant & Clinical Director - Raffles Heart Center
Dr. Philip Wong

Dr. Wong is an Interventional Cardiologist with over 35 years of clinical experience. He had practiced for more than 30 years at the National Heart Center of Singapore and has performed more than 5000 coronary procedures. He moved to Raffles Hospital in 2021 and is currently the clinical director of Raffles Heart Center. His interests include Wireless Remote Cardiac Monitoring and Medical Data Management. He is the inventor of the Spyder Wireless ECG remote monitor, which currently provides long-distance real-time heart monitoring of patients across southeast asia. The system provides early detection of cardiac arrhythmias such as Atrial Fibrillation which increases risk of stroke in both young and aging patients.

Mr. Akihiro Maeda

Akihiro (Aki) Maeda spent over 23 years in Teijin, currently a head of scouting medical devices for home-use in business development & license department, and leading strategic open innovation activities such as its own accelerator program, corporate venture arm, incubation program (including spin-out of internal project) and strategic alliances with external partners. Prior to this role, Aki was a resident for business development working at California office, US in Teijin for 5 years to seek for licensing-in opportunities with North American (USA & Canada) companies.
