Overview
GenAI Updates in Health 2026 brings together clinicians, researchers and AI leaders to explore the latest developments in generative AI and its practical use in healthcare. The session will highlight real-world applications across clinical, scientific and administrative domains, while examining key challenges, limitations and opportunities in scaling AI adoption. The programme includes short expert presentations followed by a panel discussion and networking session.
This session provides an update on the latest developments in Generative AI and its practical use in healthcare, highlighting how it is currently being applied by healthcare professionals, scientists, and administrators in real-world settings, while exploring its potential to drive meaningful impact across clinical, scientific and administrative domains.

Assoc Prof Liu Nan, Co-Director, AI in Medicine Institute (AIMI), SingHealth Duke-NUS
A/Prof Liu Nan is an Associate Professor at the Centre for Quantitative Medicine (CQM) and Programme in Health Services and Systems Research (HSSR), Duke-NUS Medical School. A/Prof Liu is actively working on AI, machine learning, and data science with their applications in various clinical domains. He is also interested in technology translation and commercialization. He co-founded TIIM Healthcare Pte Ltd and serves as its Scientific Advisor. His research has been funded by the National Medical Research Council (NMRC), National Research Foundation (NRF), National Health Innovation Centre (NHIC), Ministry of Education (MOE), AI Singapore, Duke-NUS Medical School, and SingHealth Foundation, as well as industrial partners such as Continental AG.

Assoc Prof Lita Chew, Group Chief Pharmacist, SingHealth
Associate Professor Lita Chew received her pharmacy degree from Singapore and obtained her post-graduate masters in medical science at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. She completed her fellowship training in Pharmacy Practice at the University Illinois Chicago, USA. A Pharmacy leader with more than 30 years of practice experience in oncology pharmacy, A/P Chew’s work impacts pharmacy practice and pharmacy workforce in Singapore. She holds concurrent positions as the Group Director for Allied Health at SingHealth, Head of Pharmacy Department at the National Cancer Centre Singapore, faculty member at National University of Singapore, and Senior Advisor for Chief Pharmacist’s Office at Ministry of Health Singapore.

Clinical A/Prof Ang Shin Yuh, Deputy Director, SingHealth Group Nursing
Ms Shin Yuh is Director of Nursing, National Dental Centre Singapore and Deputy Director, Nursing Research, Transformation and Informatics at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and SingHealth Group Nursing. Her research work focuses on well-being of the nursing workforce, the care environment and nursing sensitive indicators such as pressure injuries and falls. To date, she has published 52 papers in peer-reviewed journals and co-authored a guide book on research for SingHealth nurses. She has also received numerous grants for her research work and is co-inventor on a patent and a provisional patent. She was conferred the President’s Award for Nurses in 2019. Shin Yuh is also a Singapore Biodesign 2021 Faculty Fellow and is involved in teaching of nursing students in institutes of higher learning.

Assoc Prof Ke Yuhe, Associate Consultant, Singapore General Hospital
Dr Ke Yu He is an Associate Consultant in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Science at Singapore General Hospital (SGH), and a Clinical Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. She graduated with an MBBS from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS), and completed her Master of Medicine (Anaesthesia). Currently pursuing a PhD in Clinical and Translational Sciences at Duke-NUS, Dr Ke is an A*STAR scholar with a research focus on healthcare economics, artificial intelligence (AI), and big data in perioperative medicine.

Clinical A/Prof Gerald Sng, Associate Consultant, Singapore General Hospital
Dr Gerald Sng is an Endocrinologist at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) with dual training in Public Health. His primary clinical interest is in the management of young adult diabetes and the use of diabetes technology. He is actively engaged in academic work in the fields of Endocrinology, Artificial Intelligence and Junior Doctor Wellbeing, and has been invited to speak at conferences and workshops on these topics. He is also a Data Science Fellow with the SGH Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory with a focus on clinical and research applications of large language models, and the Co-Programme Director of the new Residency in Real-World Data and Digital Health.

Dr William Tjhi, Deputy Director, AI Singapore
Dr William Tjhi is a distinguished expert in the field of artificial intelligence, with a focus on linguistic inclusivity and accessibility. He currently serves as the Head of Applied Research at AI Singapore, where he leads initiatives to develop language-specific Large Language Models (LLMs) tailored for Southeast Asia’s diverse linguistic landscape. With over 15 years of experience in AI and machine learning, Dr. Tjhi has worked with leading organisations such as GovTech and Traveloka, contributing significantly to the advancement of AI technologies.

Mr Kabilan Elangovan, AI Scientist, SingHealth
Kabilan Elangovan is an AI Scientist with the AI Office at Singapore Health Services (SingHealth), he is at the forefront of integrating artificial intelligence into healthcare. His expertise lies in the development of advanced clinical screening tools through deep learning and delving into the potential of generative AI technologies in medical settings, including Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Large Language Models (LLMs).

Annabelle Chia, Manager, SingHealth
Ms Annabelle Chia is currently with the SingHealth AI Office, where she focuses on the commercialisation and translation of AI solutions across the cluster. Trained as a speech pathologist, she brings a cross-sector perspective shaped by experience in funding and evaluating innovation across government health and economic agencies, as well as private family office investment.
