Overview

This is Singapore's first industry-immersion AI literacy programme for school-age children. It is co-designed with host companies, mapped to MOE Responsible AI principles (Agency, Inclusivity, Fairness, Safety), and aligned with National AI Strategy 2.0. The programme is designed and led by Assel Mussagaliyeva-Tang: MoE Singapore School-Industry Partner, SMU affiliate faculty on AI and Digital Transformation, UN International Telecommunication Union Academy partner and instructor on AI x Government (Geneva), and 2025 Women in AI Fellow by EDSAFE AI Alliance (New York).

Every session is facilitated by Assel and tech mentors - computer science students who work regularly with children. We scheduled fireside chat lunchtime discussions with seasoned leaders from top technology companies.

Enrolment is capped at 30 participants for customised learning. Limited needs-based scholarships are available.

Hot lunches and coffee breaks are provided daily and accommodated to all dietary needs. Children aged 5 to 6 are welcome on Hackathon Day (20 June), accompanied by a parent.

Kids AI Industry Immersion Camp 2026 + AI4Good Hackathon

Singapore's first industry-immersion AI literacy programme for school-age children 16 to 20 June 2026 · Ages 7 to 15 · Limited to 30 participants

Singapore's National AI Strategy 2.0 is explicit: the next generation must be able to work with AI, question it, and build with it responsibly. Most holiday programmes stop at a screen. This one starts where the screen ends.

Kids AI Camp is a five-day school holiday programme that puts children aged 7 to 15 inside real companies, working on real AI applications, mentored by practitioners, and assessed by an industry jury. It is co-designed with confirmed partners across the technology, finance, and energy sectors, mapped to MOE Responsible AI principles (Agency, Inclusivity, Fairness, Safety), and aligned with National AI Strategy 2.0.

This is EDUTech Future's fourth AI4Good hackathon in Singapore, and its most ambitious format to date.

The Programme

Days 1 to 3 follow a consistent rhythm: a sector-specific morning workshop, followed by an afternoon company immersion visit where children meet executives and observe AI at work inside a real organisation. Tracks cover technology, fintech and venture capital, and energy/oil and gas and marine offshore.

Day 4 is entirely screen-free. Teams spend the day at Singapore Botanic Gardens for cross-functional team formation and collaborative challenges, drawing on team-building methodology from the best organisations in the worldL US Navy SEALs, Microsoft, Apple, Google, and AWS. No devices. No decks. Just people learning to work together.

Day 5 is Hackathon Day. Children present their AI solutions to a live industry jury. Prizes are awarded for each age category winners. Children aged 5 and 6 join on this day accompanied by a parent.

Two age-differentiated learning tracks run in parallel:

  • Junior Builders (ages 7 to 11): guided AI exploration, mini-project sprints, age-appropriate tools

  • Future Makers (ages 12 to 15): prompt engineering, AI ethics, pitch deck design, industry jury evaluation

  • Curious Explorers (ages 5-6 with parents) TBC if we get 10+ participants in this group.

Why This Belongs in the SGInnovate Community

The children who attend this camp are the future colleagues, founders, and talent pool of Singapore's deep-tech ecosystem. The families in the SGInnovate community understand, better than most, what it means to build something that does not exist yet. This camp is built on the same principle.

Every company visit is a live case study in how an established organisation is navigating AI adoption, where it is succeeding, and where the hard problems remain unsolved. Children leave with more than a certificate. They leave with a working mental model of the industry and the confidence to see themselves inside it.
