Project Description

The objective of this project is to engineer a new, highly effective enzyme for breaking down PET plastic, turning waste into a valuable resource for a circular economy. Using Allozymes' advanced microfluidic screening technology, we will create and test millions of enzyme variations to find candidates that are stable at high temperatures and work much faster than current options.
 
As the Scientist I, you will be at the heart of this initiative, driving the project from the lab bench. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the entire experimental workflow, from the initial genetic design of the enzyme library to the final validation of the most promising biocatalysts. You will be the hands-on expert ensuring the project moves forward efficiently.

Roles and Responsibilities

Objectives

• Design & Build: Construct a large, high-quality library of PET hydrolase enzyme variants using advanced molecular cloning techniques.
• Screen & Identify: Develop and implement a high-throughput screening process using the company's proprietary microfluidic platform to identify top-performing enzyme candidates from millions of variants.
• Validate & Characterize: Rigorously test and analyze the best enzyme "hits" to confirm their enhanced stability and activity, using biochemical assays and HPLC analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead Experimental Execution: Take full ownership of the project's lab work, ensuring all experiments are planned, executed, and documented to the highest standard.
• Analyze and Interpret Data: Process complex datasets from screening and validation experiments, using scripting and statistical tools to generate actionable insights for the next engineering cycle.
• Communicate and Report: Clearly present experimental findings, progress, and challenges to the cross-functional R&D team.

Tasks and Duties

• Perform molecular biology techniques including PCR, plasmid design, and gene cloning to create diverse enzyme libraries.
• Manage the expression of enzymes in microbial hosts (like E. coli) and purify them using chromatography methods.
• Analyze protein purity and expression levels using SDS-PAGE and Western blotting.
• Develop, optimize, and run analytical methods, particularly HPLC, to precisely measure the products of the enzymatic reaction.
• Operate and maintain key laboratory instruments, with a focus on HPLC systems.
• Write and adapt scripts (e.g., in Python or R) for efficient data processing and analysis.
• Maintain a detailed and accurate electronic lab notebook.
• Conduct literature and patent searches to stay at the forefront of the field and support project strategy.

Essential Qualification

• A PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific field.

BioChromatographix is a startup company developing novel chromatography media for purification of viruses and other biological materials.

Main objectives and responsibilities

We seek a Scientist with hands-on laboratory experience in development and manufacturing at our Singapore laboratory, reporting to the Director of Technical Development and Manufacturing. The Scientist will be responsible for producing various biotherapeutics using aseptic cell culture techniques, followed by screening and evaluation of purification methods using various chromatography columns. Castomize is a new med-tech startup that uses proprietary advanced manufacturing methods to create orthopaedic casts that are lighter, stronger, and more comfortable.

Job Description

The biomechanical engineer will further the development of Castomize’s portfolio of medical device products from a biomechanics perspective. The current portfolio of products include orthopaedic casts and prosthetics.

This role is responsible for framing questions, conducting studies, analyzing data, interpreting results, communicating actionable insights, facilitating collaboration between internal product development teams and external problem owners, and prototyping ideas toward commercialisation. 

He/she will mainly be using 3D modelling design software and 3D printing techniques to conduct iterative prototyping and commercialization of products, along with other tasks related to product development and commercialization.

This individual will manage project timelines and deliverables, oversee CROs and external partners, and work closely with our Chief Scientific and Medical Officer, a former Pharma C-suite executive, to advance our pipeline. A key responsibility will be oversight of IND‑enabling studies (pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, toxicology & CMC).

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

• Lead planning and execution of IND‑enabling studies, including pharmacology, toxicology, CMC, and related regulatory deliverables.
• Manage project timelines in collaboration with the Chief Scientific & Medical Officer
• Ensure achievement of key scientific and operational milestones with high quality standards.

CRO & External Partner Oversight

• Manage relationships with CROs, consultants, and other external vendors.
• Support preclinical study design, data interpretation and decision-making
• Ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery of outsourced work.

 Miscellaneous

• Support operational processes to ensure smooth execution of R&D and corporate activities

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in life sciences, chemistry or a related field; PhD or MD is a plus.
• 3 – 5 years of experience in biotech, pharma, or healthcare consulting, with exposure to project management
• Experience with IND‑enabling studies (pharmacology, toxicology, CMC, or regulatory submissions).
• Experience with sustained release formulation is a plus

Role Overview

We are seeking a Formulation Scientist to join our R&D team and lead the development of sustained-release ocular formulations for RedFox’s pipeline drug candidates. This role is central to advancing our preclinical and clinical programs, bringing critical technical expertise to RedFox. He or she will work closely with our Chief Scientific and Medical Officer, the former Chief Science Officer of a Pharma company.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in formulation development, familiarity with Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) requirements for IND filings, and a working knowledge of drug pharmacokinetics relevant to ocular delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, and optimize sustained-release ocular formulations for pipeline drug candidates.
• Conduct pre-formulation studies, excipient compatibility assessments, and stability testing.
• Collaborate with analytical, preclinical, and regulatory teams to ensure formulations meet CMC and regulatory standards.
• Apply knowledge of drug pharmacokinetics to guide formulation design and predict in vivo performance.
• Support technology transfer to external partners and contract development/manufacturing organizations (CDMOs).

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Biomedical, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 2 – 5 years of relevant industry or academic experience in formulation development (ophthalmic or parenteral preferred).
• Familiarity with CMC requirements for IND filings and regulatory expectations for ophthalmic products.
• Basic understanding of drug pharmacokinetics and its application to formulation design.

To that end, we are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join us on this journey. In this role, you will be part of our fast-growing team and will take ownership of your role from the get-go. You will be working on the software development of our robotic system from the design and development phase all the way to manufacturing. Throughout the process, you will be involved in the features development, functional safety enhancements, and supporting the testing phases by developing test specifications and reports.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist in the establishment of the system’s design and software requirements according to users’ needs.
• Design and develop Software Architecture and Detailed Design documents based on the requirements.
• Develop and test the software modules following respective standards and best practices.
• Carry out software testing and debugging activities alongside other engineering teams.
• Assist in developing test protocols and reports to verify various subsystems and the main system.
• Take part in code review, change control and risk management documentation generation tasks.

Requirement of Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Minimum Master's degree in Computer Science / Computer / Electronics Engineering, or related.
• At least 3 years’ experience in Embedded Systems or Firmware Development.
• Proficient in C, C++, Python, Qt framework. Experience in MISRA Compliance adherence will be advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with driver and application layers on ARM MCUs.
• Development of embedded communication protocols such as UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, Ethernet.
• Good knowledge, hands-on experience in RTOS, and familiarity with the Linux environment.
• Experience in Software development on Multicore CPU will be a plus.
• Experience in Functional Safety SDLC will be a plus.
• Understanding standards such as IEC 62304, IEC61508 & EN50128 will be a plus.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Generate and characterise nucleic acid aptamers
• Develop a new biotechnology based on genetic alphabet expansion
• Perform a variety of assays (e.g. cell signalling bioassay, internalisation/trafficking assay, protein-based and cell-based binding assays) and immunological-related assays (e.g. ELISA, flow cytometry)
• Perform mammalian cell culture experiments and maintenance
• Maintain detailed documentation of research, protocols, SOPs, inventories, maintenance logs, etc
• Take on laboratory management duties including but not limited to procurement, inventory management, laboratory equipment maintenance
• Ensure compliance with standard operation procedures, in-house safety measures and other industry practices

Requirement of Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Knowledge of basic chemistry/biology and molecular biology, including nucleic acid research
