The Nordic countries and Singapore are recognized for their strong commitment to environmental stewardship, supported by robust policies, advanced technologies, and innovative water management practices. Both regions have a shared emphasis on the role of circular water strategies as a key enabler of resilience, efficiency, and sustainability across industries—supporting broader national and corporate sustainability in driving resilience, efficiency, and sustainability across industries. This event will highlight emerging trends in industrial water efficiency, showcasing how circular strategies and innovative technologies can not only advance water stewardship, but also contribute meaningfully to companies’ overall ESG and sustainability goals.

This panel will explore the latest developments in industrial water efficiency, highlighting emerging trends and breakthrough technologies. We will examine how circular approaches—such as closed-loop recycling, advanced wastewater treatment, and optimized water use in production— support broader corporate sustainability and ESG goals.

Antony Gibson, Director, Water Technology, Ramboll
Antony Gibson

Antony is a chemical engineer with more than 25 years of experience in the design, construction and operation of water infrastructure. In recent years, he has worked with leading global water utilities and industries in Asia, North America and Europe to advise on investments in new water treatment assets to improve water security. This has included work with advanced technologies such as ceramic membranes, ion exchange and desalination. Based in Australia, Antony leads Ramboll's global competency centre for water and wastewater treatment.

Goh Kunli, Principal Research Fellow , Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore
Goh Kunli

Dr Kunli Goh is a Principal Research Fellow at the Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. With nearly a decade of R&D experience, he manages multidisciplinary teams in the innovation of next-generation membranes to address critical water and energy challenges. Dr Goh has authored close to 100 peer-reviewed SCI-indexed publications and holds three technical disclosures and know-how in membrane technology. Recognised for his scientific contributions, he has been named among the world’s top 2% scientists by Stanford University for three consecutive years since 2022. He currently serves as the Secretariat of the Academy of Engineering, Singapore.

Ted Howland

Ted is a Vice President in Group Sustainability at CapitaLand Investment (CLI) leading the Environmental Management & Innovation team.  He is a registered Professional Engineer (Civil; Massachusetts, USA) and Singapore Permanent Resident holding both Masters’ & Bachelors’ degrees in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Stanford University. He previously led innovation, certification (Green Mark, LEAF, SITES), and Operational Environmental Monitoring & Management Plan in addition to being a Subject Matter Expert in ventilation & thermal comfort, water treatment, water recycling, and wastewater treatment.
