Overview
This 16-hours workshop is to increase understanding and awareness of Shopify as a platform for e-commerce for business owners to sell their products.
The course will provide learners with an understanding of the intricacies of setting up an online store as well as the dynamics of how Shopify works and the difference in the Shopify core product and its other products and services.
Course Description & Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, learners will be able to:
Understand the Shopify website features and user experience for an online website
Understand the legal implications regarding the right use of 3rd party media assets during website design
Design and implement a marketing plan
Establish schedules and procedures for website content maintenance
Determine the metrics for customer experience measurement, loading and processing time for payment when using the website
Evaluate the website to ensure that it can satisfy technical and user experience targets
Recommended Prerequisites
Be able to operate a personal desktop computer
Be able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualifications (“ES WSQ”) Workplace Literacy (“WPL”) level 5
Be able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ES WSQ WPL level 5
Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES WSQ Workplace Numeracy (“WPN”) level 5

Trainer's Profile:
Philip Wee, Associate Trainer, James Cook Institute
Philip graduated with a Distinction in Built Environment Engineering (Industrial Design) from Queensland University of Technology, Australia. He has been a 3D printing advocate at 3D Printing Hub, leading creative teams and engaging the community. Philip taught 3D Design Diploma students at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) from 2009 to 2015, focusing on Design Thinking, 3D spatial skills, and visual communication. At Cityneon Holdings (now Neonglobal.com), he worked with clients like World Vision, Sony, and IBM and presented the Singapore Pavilion concept at the 2009 World Expo in Karachi, Pakistan.
