Dr Aitor Villar, Lead Quantum Engineer, SpeQtral
Dr Aitor Villar

Aitor earned his PhD at the Centre for Quantum Technologies in 2019. His thesis, entitled “Building Entangled Photon Pair Sources for Quantum Key Distribution with Nano-Satellites”, involved the study and implementation of space-qualified, entangled photon-pair sources for quantum communications. He is now working at SpeQtral in commercializing quantum key distribution systems for quantum-safe global networks.

Dr Pooja Jayachandran, Senior Scientist, Horizon Quantum
Dr Pooja Jayachandran

As a Senior Scientist at Horizon Quantum, Dr Pooja Jayachandran is tackling scientific problems at the algorithmic level, with the ultimate goal of building the most advanced tools for the programming of quantum computers. Pooja holds a PhD from the Centre for Quantum Technologies at the National University of Singapore, where she focused on quantum foundations, with a particular emphasis on quantum entanglement theory. She holds an MSc in Theoretical Physics from the University of Glasgow, where her Master’s research explored the intersection of quantum information and optics.

Dr Tommaso Demarie, CEO and Co-founder, Entropica Labs
Dr Tommaso Demarie

Tommaso Demarie is the CEO and Co-founder of Entropica Labs. A quantum Italian PhD physicist turned entrepreneur, he’s passionate about building a world-class team to accelerate the arrival of useful quantum computers, by tackling one of the biggest challenges: quantum error correction.

Dr Ezequiel Rodríguez Chiacchio, Hardware Team Lead, Entropica Labs
Dr Ezequiel Rodríguez Chiacchio

Ezequiel works on the implementation of quantum error correction protocols in Entropica Lab’s software, as well as the development and testing of the integration between their product and quantum hardware. Before joining the team, he completed his PhD in Physics at the University of Cambridge, where he studied out-of-equilibrium dynamics of quantum light-matter systems.

Dr Ravi Kumar, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Atomionics
Dr Ravi Kumar

Ravi Kumar is a Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Atomionics, Singapore. He holds an MSc in Photonics and a PhD in Physics. He worked at the Centre for Quantum Technologies at the National University of Singapore, Singapore as a postdoctoral research fellow before founding Atomionics in 2018 to build atom-interferometry based Quantum sensors for commercial applications like resource exploration and navigation.

Samantha Tan, Assistant Director, Young Talent, SGInnovate
Samantha Tan

Samantha Tan is an Assistant Director at SGInnovate, where she leads the Young Talent team in developing Singapore’s pipeline of Deep Tech talent. She drives initiatives that connect high-potential talent with Deep Tech startups across various emerging technologies, through initiatives such as the Summation programme. With over seven years of experience in startups and innovation-driven environments, Samantha brings hands-on operational and leadership expertise.

Lee Kai Xiang, NQSS PhD student, Centre for Quantum Technologies
Lee Kai Xiang

Kai Xiang is a NQSS PhD student with the Centre for Quantum Technologies, where he is currently designing and building quantum computers with neutral atom arrays. He previously worked on superconducting qubits during his undergraduate at the National University of Singapore, thereafter moving to work at Nanyang Technological University to explore using atoms as a platform to probe quantum phenomena.
