Project Background

TIBS is looking to build new Biotech companies in Singapore for novel drug discovery. One of the projects in the pipeline is to collaborate with local researcher to build a NewCo. of drug discovery and early development for enable scientific innovation to address unmet medical needs. The project has been developed to the stage that we are looking for a full-time project lead to drive the NewCo. set up, and R&D activities from hit to lead, to pre-clinical and early development.

 

Job Description

TIBS is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven Project Manager to lead and manage early-stage drug discovery projects. This role will drive project execution, manage external partnerships, build internal capabilities, and support the development of business proposals and external partnerships. This role is critical for ensuring the efficient advancement of novel therapies toward preclinical and clinical milestones.

The ideal candidate will ensure projects meet scientific and operational goals, while also contributing to the company's broader strategic growth through business proposal generation and business development support.

This Project Manager will participate in the new company once the NewCo. is set up.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

Project Management and Execution

  • Plan, coordinate, and lead drug discovery.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, risk assessments, and deliverable tracking.
  • Ensure achievement of key scientific and operational milestones with high quality standards.

External Partner Oversight

  • Manage activities conducted by CROs, academic collaborators, and external partners.
  • Oversee chemistry, biology, pharmacology, and preclinical studies to ensure timely and high-quality outcomes.

Internal Capability Development

  • Oversee tech transfer to build the internal competency in drug screening and assessment systems.

Scientific and Strategic Oversight

  • Collaborate closely with biology, chemistry, translational, and preclinical teams on study design, data interpretation, and decision-making.
  • Stay informed on scientific advances related to the project.

Business Proposal and Business Development Support

  • Prepare scientific and technical content for business proposals, grant applications, partnering decks, and investor materials.
  • Collaborate with the business development and executive team to craft compelling project narratives for external engagements.
  • Participate in scientific due diligence discussions, partnering meetings, and represent program updates to potential partners and investors.

Cross-functional Leadership

  • Coordinate project research activities between discovery, biology, chemistry, translational science, and preclinical groups.
  • Lead project meetings, manage communication flows, and ensure alignment across stakeholders.

Project Reporting

  • Deliver high-quality internal reports, milestone updates, board presentations, and partnership briefing documents.

 

Requirements of Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline;
  • 5+ years of project leadership experience in biotech or pharmaceutical drug discovery settings. IND enabling experience is preferred
  • Hands-on experience managing external research collaborations and internal cross-functional teams;
  • Experience with biological assay development, biomarker measurements, or pharmacology research;
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and scientific communication skills;
  • Ability to synthesize complex scientific information into clear, business-facing deliverables;
  • Highly committed to drive the venture building process and demonstrate ability to take critical positions in the NewCo.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to partnering discussions, due diligence processes, or strategic business development efforts;
  • Prior experience in an early-stage biotech or startup environment;
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management training is a plus.
