Project role: Development of High-Performance UAV (AI-Controls Engineer)

Responsibilities:

1.System Integration and Development:
-Develop and iterate on the UAV's Guidance, Navigation, and Flight Control System (GNFCS), integrating a sophisticated ViDAR stack for real-time visual detection and ranging capabilities.
-Lead the integration of machine learning models (RL, PINN) within the control system for adaptive and predictive flight behaviors.

2.AI and Machine Learning:
-Implement and optimise AI algorithms for path planning, obstacle avoidance, and autonomous decision-making in complex environments.

3.Software Development:
-Write clean, efficient, and modular code in Python and C++ for the GNFCS and ViDAR components, ensuring real-time performance on embedded systems like the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier.

4.Testing and Validation:
-Design and execute comprehensive testing protocols including unit, integration, and system-level tests in both simulated and real-world environments.
-Utilise tools like ROS, Gazebo, or AirSim for simulation-based validation of UAV dynamics and control algorithms.

5.Collaboration and Prototyping:
-Collaborate with hardware teams to ensure software compatibility with sensor suites, motor controls, and battery management systems.
-Participate in prototyping phases, from tethered flight tests to full autonomous missions.

6.Documentation and Compliance:
-Document software architecture, models, and testing results for internal use and compliance with aviation standards (FAA/EASA).
