Fabrica.ai specialises in developing automatic tile grouting robots, which are currently being piloted on construction sites in Singapore under the management of Woh Hup, BHCC, and Gin Chia. Their success extends beyond Singapore, as they have already gained early traction in the United States and Europe.

Project role: Electrical Engineer (Autonomous Tile Grouting Robot)

From August to December 2023, Fabrica will work on building reproducible and reliable PCBs for their robot. Part of that for electronics design and assembly is to design for easy debugging and replacing parts. This would include creating a simple user interface that could generate error codes.

The Trainee would also be involved in the initial electronics design and assembly for Fabrica's new robots and potentially integrating Fabrica's tech stacks on existing robots.

Core responsibilities:

1) PCB, electronics design

• Working with both hobbyist and industrial microcontrollers, single board computers, motor drivers etc.
• Integrating motor systems of different types (DC, BLDC, with encoder feedback…), sensor modules etc.
• PCB design

2) Embedded programming Possible additional responsibilities:

• Testing the robot on construction sites.
• Managing external PCB production.
• Harness design.
