Description

BeeX is building the SpaceX / Tesla equivalent of the underwater world. They manufacture Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles and pairs them with intelligent software tools.

These vehicles help protect critical marine infrastructure, including clean energy from Offshore Wind, coastal protection efforts and maritime assets like vessels, ports and aquaculture farms.

Project role: Electronics Design Engineer (Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles)

BeeX's flagship A.IKANBILIS HAUV, has worked in challenging conditions alongside forward-thinking service providers; providing insights on the condition of near-shore assets at unprecedented speed and quality. BeeX is actively engaging with customers to build a better and bigger variant for harsher conditions in Offshore Wind. As a Electronics Design Engineer, the Trainee's daily schedule will include frequent interactions with a multi-disciplinary team, and the Trainee would need to be equally comfortable working at sea trials and a normal desk in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Implement sub-components of the Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicle.
  2. PCB Design of Electronics boards for interfacing, operation and control of the vehicles.
  3. Power electronics design to various system components, sensors and actuator systems.
  4. Wire harness and cabling design and production drawing generation (2D and 3D).
  5. Firmware development on microcontrollers such as Atmega and ARM for real-time control of hardware components.
  6. Bench-testing and field testing of key sensors and components for integration to the vehicles.
  7. Carry out intensive bench and in-water testing of the vehicles, and document performance.
  8. Stress testing of system components for harsh environment operations such as thermal, vibration, EMI-EMC and humidity.
  9. Gather user requirements in collaboration with management team and end customers.
