Project role: Data Engineer

The Trainee will be responsible for collecting, preprocessing, labelling, and managing large-scale geospatial point cloud datasets to support the training, validation, and evaluation of Alteredverse’s machine learning models, to ensure the accuracy and quality of Alteredverse’s AI-based 3D asset creation process.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Gathering and curating geospatial point cloud data from various sources, including LiDAR, RGBD, and photogrammetry. 
2. Preprocessing and cleaning raw point cloud data to remove noise, and outliers, and ensure data consistency.
3. Labelling and annotating large point clouds for the specified classes/categories accurately and efficiently for point cloud segmentation.
4. Transforming and standardising point cloud data into a unified coordinate system for seamless integration with AI models.
5. Collaborating with Machine Learning Engineers to prepare training datasets, including data augmentation and balancing.
6. Managing and maintaining large-scale datasets to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility.
7. Developing and optimising data pipelines to efficiently handle and process large volumes of point cloud data.
