Description

Eye care, in its current form, does not scale. There are too few eye doctors (3 eye doctors for every 100,000 people). Inadequate medical devices (too expensive, non-portable, complex to use). Eye care is inconvenient and time-consuming (appointment difficulties and infrastructure challenges)

Naturally, 2.2 billion people globally suffer from some form of vision impairment. Medios enables eye care to scale. Their medical devices are smartphone based (iOS), portable and affordable. They use in-house Machine Learning algorithms to automate some very complex eye examinations and to auto-diagnose patient conditions.

Medios’ technology has already prevented blindness in 7 million patients in 20+ countries; from rural screening programs in places such as India and Gambia, to primary care screening in Walmarts, to large university healthcare systems such as the University of Virginia, and Columbia University.

And they are not stopping here. They are continuing to expand their medical device to be even more user-friendly, and support the auto-diagnose of many more eye conditions. They are hiring to further expand the development of the software on their devices.
