Participants are expected to be fully committed to the duration of their apprenticeship, actively engaging in project work and mentorship activities.
Summation offers projects in Deep Tech areas, such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cybersecurity, IoT, Robotics, Quantum, Biotechnology and more.
You can check out the complete project list here.
All apprenticeships are in-person in Singapore. Participants will work on-site in the Singapore Deep Tech startups.
Certain components of the selection process, such as interviews might be conducted online.
The system only allows an applicant to edit his/her submission during the draft stage. Once the application form is successfully submitted, edits are no longer allowed.
Alternatively, applicants can choose to re-submit another application form.
Applicants will need to check with their schools on such arrangement. SGInnovate will not be responsible for liaising with the IHLs regarding such arrangements.
The shortlisting phase comprises two stages:
Stage 1: Technical & Cognitive Assessments
There will be assessments that you will take based on the projects you are shortlisted for. Applicants who select non-coding related projects will not be required to take the technical assessment.
Stage 2: Interviews
Shortlisted applicants who pass the assessment stage will be invited to attend interview sessions with the organisations. These organisations will contact relevant applicants directly to arrange the interviews.
During this phase, the organisations you applied to may administer additional technical assessments as part of their selection process.
If an organisation decides to proceed with an applicant, there will be a final round of interview with SGInnovate before any formal offer is made.
You are required to complete the below assessments once you apply for a project.
-
Cognitive Assessments (General Reasoning Test - GRT) - Required for all applicants.
-
Technical Assessment (HackerRank Test) - Only for projects/roles requiring coding knowledge.
The General Reasoning Test (cognitive assessment) will be valid for life.
However, the HackerRank Test (technical assessment) is only valid for 12 months upon completion. If your application process extends beyond this period, you might need to retake the test.
Programming-related projects will typically require proficiency in at least one programming language.
Apart from technical skills, relevant knowledge and/or experience related to the project or the industry the startup is in will also be considered.
You can check out the complete list of projects and the specific eligibility criteria here.
Yes, you can reapply for the same project. However, you may also want to look for other projects to apply which are more aligned to your skillsets and experience.
Yes, you may apply. One of the goals of our Summation programme is to help undergraduates develop new skills while gaining hands-on experience in their fields of interest. However, as each application is reviewed individually, you will need to demonstrate a certain level of relevant skills or knowledge.
While you do not necessarily need to meet every requirement, there should still be some alignment between your abilities and the role’s expectations.
There is no fixed limit on number of projects you can apply for. However, to make the most out of the experience, it is recommended that you apply for projects that truly interest you and align with your skills and experiences.
We aim to review all completed applications every week.
The talent assessments will take place two weeks after your application is submitted. Applicants will be notified of their application status via email.
Those who are shortlisted will receive further instructions approximately 1–2 months after the talent assessment stage.
You can also check the progress of your application on Deep Tech Central. .
Note: A complete application is one with all necessary documents uploaded and one with a completed General Reasoning Test and HackerRank test (if applicable). Delaying your completion of the above tests will affect the timeline your application is considered.
We will contact shortlisted applicants within 4-6 weeks of submission.
Applicants will be evaluated against the respective criteria of the projects that they have identified in their preference selection.
The organisation will assign a mentor to each apprentice, along with a training and development plan that outlines the key skills to be taught throughout the project.
This plan will be shared with the apprentice to ensure alignment on the programme’s goals and expectations.
You will be given three (3) working days to confirm your acceptance of the offer.
Once you accept the offer, you will be required to sign a three-way contract between yourself, SGInnovate, and the startup you will be working with prior to the start of the programme. Start dates will be agreed upon between you and the organisation prior to the signing of the contract.
Depending on the startup, there may also be additional onboarding procedures—such as documentation submission or preliminary training—before your first day.
Yes, there will be a structured training development plan outlining the expected learning outcomes from the apprenticeship.
Mid-program and/or end-program check-ins will also be conducted, where we will review your performance and overall experience.

In addition, Talent are expected to:
- Complete feedback forms
- Attend scheduled training workshops
- Participate in programme-related events
These activities are essential to ensure a meaningful and well-rounded learning journey.

Private Hire Cars
- Apps like Grab, Gojek, and Tada offer convenient ride-hailing services. Simply book through the app and choose your preferred vehicle type and fare option.
Real time travel planning
