Overview
In Singapore, life expectancy has risen to about 85 years, and by 2030, it has been predicted that one in four Singaporeans will be aged 65 and above. It is undeniable that Singapore will have a rapidly ageing population; hence, it is imperative to encourage citizens to be as healthy and active as possible.
However, what constitutes healthy ageing? One of the essential factors is the understanding and prevention of the various diseases that plague the senior generation. Another is the ability to live independently, even with one's old age, with the use of technology. With the advancement of science and technology behind healthy ageing, the diverse needs of the various senior citizens can be addressed to help them age gracefully.

Dr Brian Kennedy, Distinguished Professor of Biochemistry and Physiology, NUS and Director, National University Health System (NUHS) Centre for Healthy Ageing, Singapore
Dr Brian Kennedy is internationally recognised for his research in the basic biology of ageing and as a visionary committed to translating research discoveries into new ways of delaying, detecting, and preventing human ageing and associated diseases. He is a Professor in the Departments of Biochemistry and Physiology at National University Singapore and Director of the Centre for Healthy Ageing in the National University Health System. From 2010 to 2016, he was the President and CEO of the Buck Institute for Research on Aging. Currently, he remains as a Professor at the Institute. Dr Kennedy also has an adjunct appointment at the USC Davis School of Gerontology. Dr Kennedy is also actively involved Biotechnology companies, serving in consulting and Board capacities, as well as Scientific Director of Affirmativ Health. Dr Kennedy also serves as a Co-Editor-In-Chief at Ageing Cell.

Adrienne Mendenhall, Director, ACCESS Health International
Adrienne focuses on business development and building our Singapore network. She creates innovative partnerships across public and private sectors that result in new healthcare and aged care models. Adrienne developed the Modern Aging program in Singapore and continues to manage key accounts for the team.
Prior to joining ACCESS Health International, Adrienne worked in education administration for the National University of Singapore Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health. In the US, she had a decade of experience in community health promotion, focusing on reproductive and adolescent health and the prevention and management of noncommunicable chronic diseases. Adrienne received her Master's of Public Health from the University of Minnesota.
