Spain is currently taking a prominent role in advancing the quantum computing field, with multiple hubs for quantum innovation situated in the regions of Catalonia, Galicia, Madrid and the Basque Country. Among these hubs, the Barcelona Supercomputing Center – Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) stands as the keystone of the Southern Europe quantum ecosystem. This pivotal institution is not only poised to host a publicly accessible gate-based quantum computer, as part of the Quantum Spain initiative, which involves an ambitious investment of 22 million Euros, but it has also expressed interest in hosting an alternative analog quantum computer, as one of the six sites across Europe designated to host and operate a quantum computer under the EuroQCS (European Quantum Computing & Simulation) infrastructure. The remarkable success of Barcelona's quantum endeavours is the result of a collaborative effort involving universities, public and private investment, and government support, catalysing an important hub for quantum excellence in Southern Europe. DISCUSSION The conference will serve as a presentation of the project to the Singapore deep tech ecosystem, as well as an opportunity to understand how quantum computing is already shaping the new horizons in Singapore. • How quantum computing will change our day-to-day life by 2030 • How Qilimanjaro plans to facilitate the access to the private and public sectors • How international players can access and benefit the new gate-based quantum computer in the BSC-CNS with also the new EuroQCS analog quantum computer PROGRAM Welcome address: • SGInnovate • Antonio García Rebollar, Embassy of Spain in Singapore – ICEX SPAIN TRADE AND INVESTMENT • Jordi Maluquer, Government of Catalonia – ACCIO • Xavier Mayo, Barcelona City Council Keynote address: • Albert Solana, Chief Business Officer at Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech Dialogue with: • Albert Solana, CBO at Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech • Jing Yi Chan, Head of Operations and Business of Entropica Labs • Ruben Criado, CEO at Arquimea Research Center • Interventions from the audience NETWORKING After the event, there will be time for networking between the participants. Wine and refreshments will be served. ABOUT US BARCELONA-CATALONIA is a land of opportunity, smart, open-minded and tech-friendly.
