Overview
A hands-on, intermediate-level workshop for builders who already use Claude Code and want to go deeper. Across four modules — Skills, MCPs, Plugins, and API Integrations — attendees learn the four power-user primitives that turn Claude Code into a real productivity multiplier, then chain all of them into working workflows. Bring your laptop, leave with working setups you built yourself.
Course Description & Learning Outcomes
Power Up Claude Code is a 2.5-hour intermediate workshop for developers, technical founders, and AI-curious builders who already use Claude Code and want to go beyond it as a coding assistant. The workshop is built around the four power-user primitives — Skills, MCPs, Plugins, and API Integrations — that quietly run real workflows in the background. Each module mixes a focused teaching block with hands-on exercises, so every attendee builds working setups on their own machine, not just watch demos. A resource kit with templates, install commands, scaffolds, and integration snippets is released at the door and stays online after the event.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this workshop, attendees will be able to:
Build and run reusable Skills — package a recurring workflow once and re-run it on demand, replacing repeat prompts with structured, shareable patterns.
Install and operate MCPs — authenticate a Model Context Protocol server (Gmail, Slack, Calendar, GitHub or Notion) and use it to read, draft, and act on real data from inside Claude Code.
Configure and scaffold Claude Code Plugins — install community plugins, customise their behaviour, and scaffold a minimal custom plugin from a starter template.
Integrate third-party APIs into Claude Code — wire up external services like Nano Banana for image generation and ElevenLabs for voice, using a pattern that generalises to any REST API.
Choose the right primitive for any task — develop a working mental model for when to reach for a Skill versus an MCP, a Plugin, or an API integration in real-world workflows.
Recommended Prerequisites
Recommended Prerequisites
To get the most out of this workshop, attendees should have:
Hands-on experience with Claude Code — at least one prior session in your terminal. We won't cover installation or first-run basics.
Comfort with the command line — running commands, editing config files, reading terminal output.
Claude Code installed and verified before arrival (verification step in the prep email).
A Google and Vercel account for the MCP module. Throwaway accounts are fine.
Basic familiarity with APIs — knowing what an API key is and what a REST call looks like.
You don't need to be a software engineer or have built a plugin, MCP, or integration before — that's what we're teaching.
