Overview

Led by the Carbon Trust as part of the Enterprise Sustainability Programme, the subsidised course will equip companies with the knowledge needed to reduce their carbon footprints in line with the national climate target to achieve Net Zero emissions via hands-on session on toolkits to measure Scope 1, 2 and 3 footprints and set decarbonisation targets aligned with the climate science.

Course Description & Learning Outcomes

By attending the 16.5 hours course, you could benefit from: - Introduction to the foundations of decarbonisation concepts, language and frameworks - Hands-on session on toolkits to help your business establish its baseline emission inventory and set science-based targets - Guidance on carbon reduction opportunities for your business on the route to Net Zero - Personal support with sustainability experts from the Carbon Trust, including tailored advice on your business’ decarbonisation strategy - Access to the Carbon Trust’s events and knowledge base in Singapore - Networking with other businesses to exchange ideas and inspirations - 14 PDUs can also be attained if you are part of the Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM) Programme

Day 1 - Net Zero and Greenhouse Gas Accounting (8 hours)- Understand what Net Zero is and why it matters to your business - Receive an introduction to greenhouse gas Scope 1, 2 and 3 footprint accounting - Learn how to calculate organisational and value chain footprints using publicly available tools
Day 2 – Science-based Target Setting and Decarbonisation Levers (8 hours)Learn how to reduce and track organisational and value chain footprints - Understand the difference between Net Zero and carbon neutrality - Explore the role of offsets in your carbon reduction journey - Learn how to set near-term and long-term science-based targets towards Net Zero - Learn about the concept of marginal abatement cost curves
Day 3 - Personal Clinic and Q&A Session (optional – 30 mins)- 30 mins clinic session with 1-on-1 support on queries relating to your business’ baseline greenhouse gas emissions inventory - Identify potential reduction initiatives and near-term target to be set for your own business

Trainer's Profile:

Prannoy Chowdhury, Senior Consultant, South East Asia, The Carbon Trust
Prannoy Chowdhury

Prannoy is a Senior Consultant at the Carbon Trust’s Singapore office. His work is focused on supporting corporates on sustainability strategies. He is advising corporates across the Southeast Asia region in their sustainability strategy and journey. This includes a systematic process of carbon footprinting across the value chain, target setting (SBTi, Net Zero), identification and quantification of climate-change related risks and opportunities (TCFD), assurance & labelling, climate leadership framework, etc. Prior to joining the Carbon Trust, Prannoy worked in the industry for around 13 years. Where he was developing and offering a variety of bespoke sustainable solutions to corporate customers for their environmental sustainability needs. Prannoy holds a Master’s degree in environmental engineering from Singapore Stanford Partnership program. He is also an engineer by training.

Jasmine Teo, Associate, South East Asia, The Carbon Trust
Jasmine Teo

Jasmine is an Associate at the Carbon Trust, based in the Singapore office. Her primary focus at work is to support corporates in their sustainability strategies, providing advisory on carbon footprinting, target setting (SBT, Carbon Neutrality and Net Zero) and assurance & labelling work. She is currently working on a range of projects for the agriculture, retail, automotive and plastics manufacturing sectors in GHG accounting and science-based target setting. Prior to joining the Carbon Trust, Jasmine had spent over 4 years in the government sector, developing the electronics and semiconductor manufacturing industry and supporting the corporates on their real estate needs. Jasmine holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours – Distinction) in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Singapore.

Jiao Xin Ping, Associate, South East Asia, The Carbon Trust
Jiao Xin Ping

Xin Ping is an Associate at the Carbon Trust, based in the Singapore office. Her primary focus is to support corporates in their sustainability strategies, providing advisory on carbon footprinting, target setting (science-based targets, and Net Zero) and assurance & labelling work (e.g. product and organisational footprint verification. She has been working on a range of projects for the agriculture, manufacturing and service sectors. Prior to joining Carbon Trust, Xin Ping spent over 3 years in the Singapore government, developing the commodities trading and wholesale trade industry by providing support in areas such as taxation, human capital, trade finance, environmental sustainability, and business continuity plans. Xin Ping holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Economics (Hons., Highest Distinction) from the National University of Singapore.
