SGInnovate’s Corporate Pitch Event series brings together the community of corporates, CVCs and startups for thought leadership discussions, knowledge sharing and networking.  

In this edition, we will be focusing on the Energy sector. With the global demand for sustainable energy sources, it is increasingly important for research and innovation in the energy sector to be commercialised and brought to market. Join our panellists as we discuss the future of energy innovation, and the innovation that corporates are exploring and adopting to build a sustainable energy future for all.

Also, several startups from this region, who are leveraging on frontier technology to address some of key industry themes such as operational efficiency, e-mobility and sustainability, will be invited to pitch at this event.

Speakers’ Profiles: 

Xin Ma, Managing Director - Asia Platform, Total Carbon Neutrality Ventures 


Dr Xin Ma is the Managing Director of Asia Platform, at Total Carbon Neutrality Ventures (TCNV) of Total Group. She leads the investment activities in Asia for TCNV in the fields of energy, mobility and sustainability/circular economy. She joined Total Group in 2009, where she held several posts before TCNV, including the Group’s Deputy Chief Economist, the head of Equity Development in China, as well as the head of Asia for M&A and New Business for the Marketing and Service Branch. Previously she worked in Deloitte’s London office as an associate manager. Xin was born in China and is fluent in French and English. 

Graham Howes, Managing Director - Asia, BP Ventures 


Graham Howes joined BP in 2000 to support the manufacturing sites on identifying options to improve energy performance, and in 2006 he became a technology manager in BP Alternative Energy.    

Graham is currently in the BP Ventures team whose function is to make strategic investments in companies with unique technology that aligns with BP’s core business strategy. As the Ventures’ Managing Director in Asia, his role is to grow the presence of BP Ventures in Asia and he was the lead for the direct investments into PowerShare and R&B Technology plus the NIO Capital fund. He is the PowerShare board supervisor and previously held non-executive director roles in UK and USA based companies and provided commercial support to the BP International Centre for Advanced Materials (BP-ICAM). 

Graham is a Chartered Engineer and has an MSc in Energy and Environmental Engineering from Cranfield University. 

Rajiv Seneviratne, Principal, ASEAN, DuPont Sustainable Solutions 


Rajiv brings 18 years of consulting and energy industry experience from roles at DSS, Bain, KPMG and BP. He has advised clients in the energy sector on profitability improvement, innovation and safety across both the Upstream and Downstream. He was closely involved in BP’s downstream transformation programmes, and latterly in its Upstream simplification initiative from the fallout of the last oil price drop. He has deep expertise in accelerated transformation, operational and commercial excellence, sustainable cost management, and procurement & supply chain. Rajiv is a Principal at DuPont Sustainable Solutions and advises the company’s Energy clients in ASEAN.   

Moderator's Profile:

Tong Hsien Hui, Head of Venture Investing, SGInnovate 


Hsien-Hui brings with him in-depth knowledge and experience in the Business Development and Venture Capital spaces across Australia, Europe, Singapore and the US. 

As Head of Venture Investing, Hsien-Hui oversees SGInnovate's investments efforts, which target high-potential, deep tech startups working in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Vehicles, MedTech and Blockchain. 

Prior to joining SGInnovate, he was the Managing Partner, Asia Pacific for Wassax Ventures. He has also served as the CEO of the National University of Singapore Society (NUSS) and Vice President at Staples. In the early 2000s, he co-founded a data mining company, which was sold to a global bank two years later. 

Hsien-Hui graduated in 1998 from NUS with a Bachelor of Engineering.
