EyDIA - Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation in Eye is a monthly AI- and digital innovation-based international virtual eye journal club initiated by the AI and Digital Innovation group of Singapore National Eye Center (SNEC)/ Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI). The objective is to gather the world's clinical and technical experts to share and discuss the state-of-art technologies in ophthalmology, and how to bring the technology from bench to bedside.

Dr Yun Liu, Senior Research Scientist, Google Health
Yun Liu, PhD, is a senior research scientist in Google Health. In this role, he focuses on developing and validating machine learning for medical imaging across multiple fields: pathology, ophthalmology, radiology, and dermatology. Yun completed his PhD at Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology, where he worked on predictive risk modelling using biomedical signals, medical text, and billing codes. He has previously also worked on predictive modelling for nucleic acid sequences and protein structures. Yun completed a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University.
Dr Lily Peng, Physician-Scientist and Product Manager, Google Health
Lily Peng, MD, PhD, is a physician-scientist and product manager for Google Health. Her team works on applications of deep learning to increase the availability and accuracy of care. Some of her team's recent work includes building models to detect diabetic eye disease, predict cardiovascular health factors from retinal images, detect breast cancer and lung cancer from screening scans. Before Google, Dr Peng was a product manager at Doximity and a co-founder of Nano Precision Medical, a drug delivery device start-up. She holds a Bachelor of Science with honours and distinction in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University and an MD/PhD in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Francisco
Dr Dennis Lam, EX-CEO, Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO)
Dr Dennis Lam is a key ophthalmic leader in Asia and beyond. His key titles include "Top 100 Most Influential Ophthalmologists in the World (2014-2020)", Ex-President of AP Vitreo-Retina Society, and current Editor-in-Chief of AP Journal of Ophthalmology, and Secretary-General of AAPPO (Academy of AP Professors of Ophthalmology) & APMS (AP Myopia Society). He established the Hong Kong C-MER International Eye Care Group in 2012 which was listed in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (#3309) in 2018. It now runs 18 eye centres and hospitals in Hong Kong and China.
Prof Aung Tin, Executive Director, Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI)
Professor Aung Tin is the Executive Director, Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) and Deputy Medical Director (Research), Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC). He was President of the World Glaucoma Association from 2016-2017, and also serves as Board Member of the WGA and Asia Pacific Glaucoma Society. Professor Aung's research has secured more than S$20 million in competitive research grant funding. Professor Aung Tin currently has published over 600 publications, including Nature Genetics, JAMA, Lancet and many others.
Asst Prof Daniel Ting, Head AI and Digital Innovation, Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI)
Asst Prof Daniel Ting is the Head of AI and Digital Innovation in Singapore Eye Research Institute, the EXCO of the American Academy Ophthalmology AI and STARD-AI Task Force, the Associate Editor of Nature Digital Medicine, Section Editor in British Journal of Ophthalmology and the Editor of Ophthalmology. He was also the past Fulbright Scholar to Johns Hopkins University. He has published over 150 publications thus far, including articles in JAMA, NEJM, Lancet, Nature Medicine, etc. In 2019, he was also rated as one of the four thought leaders by The Ophthalmologist in the deep learning fields for ophthalmology.
