At the second Appier AI Masterclass, Dr Min Sun, Chief AI Scientist at Appier, will discuss the current capabilities and future potential of Artificial Intelligence to generate creative outputs. Dr Sun will share the research trends in this direction and what his extensive research has uncovered. Finally, he will show how he applies this knowledge at Appier, and how to effectively use AI and deep learning in the creative process.

Dr. Min Sun, Chief Artificial Intelligence Scientist, Appier

Dr. Sun is Chief Artificial Intelligence (AI) Scientist of Appier. He joined Appier from National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), where he served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering.

Dr. Sun has worked under some of the most influential AI leaders, including Andrew Ng (VP & Chief Scientist of Baidu; Co-Chairman and Co-Founder of Coursera; and an Adjunct Professor at Stanford University), Fei-Fei Li (Associate Professor at the Computer Science Department at Stanford University and Director of the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab and the Stanford Vision Lab), and Silvio Savarese (an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University and director of the SAIL-Toyota Center for AI Research at Stanford).

Some of his research interests include computer vision, machine learning and natural language processing. Examples of his numerous past and current projects are network architecture search, video/image captioning, personal video analysis, large-scale vision, 3D vision, 3D object representation, human pose estimation and scene understanding.
